Think about where they come from and why we are using them, mostly because they make sense or prove our point when we are trying to make it or there are just funny to say.
There are so many quotes to choose from but I picked the ones that I liked and that are somewhat different, fun and you have used in talking with others. Quotes are a gift, they bring memories to us, whether from the movie or what we were doing during that time, they brought the memories back which are a gift. Enjoy the quotes, enjoy the memories and keep saying the quotes daily, weekly or monthly.

LOL Great list of movie quotes. I hate to say it but I'm sure I've used almost all of them in conversations..
I can see why you and I get along so well, Ladybird33! One of my favorites is, "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer." I have many myself as I expect many others do as well. Thanks for sharing this great/fun hub!
These are great and do bring back great memories - so glad I read this Hub, Thanks, Kimberly
So great hubs and quotes. I like the one in "Gone with the wind 'After all, tomorrow is another day'".?Whenever I feel gloomy...
Nice hub. I love it. I love the quotes.
Great quotes...many memories reawakened...Couple more: Jack Nicholson in " The Shining ", " Here's Johnny "...and Pedro Arendariz in " Treasure of Sierra Madre ", " Badges?.. What badges?..we got no stinken' badges ! ".. Thanks for this..Larry
Thanks for some good memories. I have used many of those quotes when the situation required it. Funny how that common cultural connection can make everyone smile.
far OUT! love this hub!! as someone who finds wisdom in movies and also quotes them occasionally, i dub this article awesome :)
Oh, and my most favorite "You had me at hello" who said that?
Great hub! I love movie quotes! I have to say my favorite from your list is "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" even though in the book he leaves off the frankly, but whatever, lol that's Hollywood for you. I have to add my personal favorite (cuz it makes me laugh) "Bye bye love, hello poptarts" by Bette Midler from The First Wives Club.
Wow, We used most of the movies quotes without realizing it actually came from movies quotes. Thanks for the highlight, I love those quotes.
hi there ladybird33, my fav is Frankly my dear I dont give a damn! scarlett o hara gone-- with the wind!
Wow. I didn't realize how many of these quotes my pals and I use until I read this! lol! Thumbs up!
It's fun to remember old movie quotes. They certainly have long lives. You've got a lot of good ones. One of my favorites that I like to quote is by James Cagney who played a gangster in "White Heat." He said the following to a fellow gangster: "Come out of that bathroom, and come out clean." (meaning unarmed.)
It's a great movie, Ladybird33. Here's the Wikipedia site that describes the movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Heat
... and here's one site, IMBd, where it may be available.
It's a classic crime movie that I know you will enjoy.
“You had me at hello” quote by Rene Zellweger (Dorothy Boyd) in Jerry McGuire...awww thts my fav:)
its a cute hub with lovely qoutes!thanks for sharing.
Cheers,nadia
My favorite from Idiocracy: "Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolites." It's become my ritual to say it whenever I water my plants.
Great list Ladybird
Some of the quotes seem ordinary when you read them in isolation. But if you've seen the movie and the context that they're in then you know why they're such great lines.
The Cher line is a prime example, it came out of nowhere and was hilarious
Nice quotes. You definitely got some that I missed.
Great article! It really is amazing to realize how many of these quotes I use in my everyday world. There's no telling how many times I have used my version of a "Terminator" accent telling the kid, "I'll be back" after saying "Clean up this room"! :) "Show me the money" comes up at work randomly. I could go on and on, but I know you realize how often we all do this kind of thing, or you wouldn't have been inspired to write about it.
Really good observastion about how movies effect everyday people, and life! Well written, and fun to read! Thanks!
great quotes...2 of my favorites are "It is the question that drives us Neo" from The Matrix and "Leave the gun, take the canoli" from The Godfather...thanks
